CANDIDATE PINE

Sault Ste. Marie, Mi...Candidate Pine supports the unauthorized payout of $2,600.000.00 of public money. The victims here are the tribal citizens themselves...losing potentially millions of dollars in medical and dental and optical services. What's most deplorable, is the $2,600,000.00 is fully recoverable. To date, three courts have ruled in the tribe's favor.

Candidate Pine says in her public profile she's been employed with the tribe for fifteen years. She goes on to say how she and her husband own Chippewa Animal Clinic and Willoby's Restaurant and Motel in Brimley. And besides, she's the proud mother of two children. Wonderful...but is this the individual you want to pay $5585.00 a month to attend a few meetings for you? Will candidate Pine have time to do anything more than that...very likely not.

You have to love a candidate, though, who supports the core values and traditions of the tribal community...as does Candidate Pine. However, one has to ask where she learned them... in a Christian Church? While that may be all well and fine, isn't there some confusion here...are the core values and the traditions of the Native Community really the same as thoughs of the Christian faith?

You also have to love a candidate who loves and supports children...after all how can you not. But this candidate's assertion begs the question...why isn't she active in advocating for these precious young individuals? Very likely the answer is simply that...she hasn't had the time to do it.

What are your thoughts?

Thank you, Charles Forgrave

WHO IS DEB PINE?

One more reminder that is of concern to tribal citizens is that Deb Pine, during a first time run for the Sault Tribe Board of Directors and an unknown contender for a seat in Unit One, has managed to garner the highest number of votes for that position.

Disbelief is the tone for her success as the highest vote-getter just as disbelief was the tone when Bernard Bouschor found a way to slither back where we didn't want him with the help of the tribal judicial system who chose to ignore the secretarial election and overturn the results when we voted to keep him away from having any authority over tribal members and our money. Hmmm...could there be a connection there?

If you don't know who Deb Pine is, she is the daughter of Jolene Nertoli, one of the 7 + 2 who Bouschor awarded with a large portion of your money in a prearranged, secret termination of employment. Pine also supports Bouschor and his actions and has for many years.

Yes that's right....Pine is the daughter of a woman who was part of the 2.66 million dollar scamming of the tribe. Did more than 1000 voters actually vote to add another Bouschor supporter to the tribal board? Don't those of you who did think Bouschor has enough support on the board already with Abramson, HOFFMAN, McCoy, MASSAWAY and PETOSKEY?

If Pine is successful in the general election, tribal members will find out exactly who Deb Pine really is.

KIBBLE FAILS IN POPULARITY CONTEST

Former employees and assorted tribal members have ensured through numerous phone calls and emails that Holly Kibble's court date be known. June 4th is the date and 9:30 a.m. is the time for Kibble to face the three charges against her. The verbage of the charges may be creative but the gist is that she was arrested for driving drunk and bolted after hitting a pole leaving behind damaged property.

As usual, double standards have applied for Kibble who still has a job even though said job requires that she be able to drive. Her Sault Tribe boss has kindly over-looked the policy that states she should be up the creek without a paddle just as others have been before her...some with lesser charges. Instead Sault Tribe citizens (whether we know it or not) have kindly donated extra funds we don't have so that Kibble can be chauffeured about town during the course of her work day in order to fulfill her responsibilities.

Judging from the number of former employees and tribal citizens who are making sure her court date is published, Kibble won't be winning any popularity contests anytime soon.

CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE

The recent million dollar return on an investment for non-tolerance of corrupt behavior by the former chairman, Bernard Bouschor, was due to the integrity of attorney Todd Gravelle.

It was Todd Gravelle, who on the day following the scamming of the Sault Tribe during an emergency meeting, made the motion to file a lawsuit against Miller, Canfield & Stone for their part in the 7+2 payout.

It was also Todd Gravelle who recommended that Bill Horton represent the tribe in this case as well as the infamous 7+2. William Horton is a managing partner with Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, PC located in Troy, MI.

It was Todd Gravelle who recommended the restraining order that prevented Bernard Bouschor from firing more employees, beyond those who were part of his scheme to defraud the tribe, prior to what we hoped was Bouschor's final departure.

Without the legal input of Todd Gravelle, the Land Claims fund would not be the recipient of a million dollar settlement so lets not displace credit onto those incumbents on the current board who would have done nothing to get back funds that belonged to tribal citizens.

Don't make the mistake of retaining or voting for those who will support actions against tribal citizens but who will vote in favor of the likes of Bernard Bouschor and remember those who represented the tribes best interests as well as those who will in the future.

I'll get back to all of you later.

Lots of emails and phone calls are coming in regarding the mediation that resulted in the million dollar settlement with Miller-Canfield-Stone as well as the ballot count scheduled for tomorrow at 5 pm at Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie.

The mediation did not relieve Bernard Bouschor from any actions being taken against him regarding the 7 + 2 case and he is still going to trial which is scheduled for October 2010. Set aside some time to attend if you can and the details will be posted as soon as they are available. We need to let the judge and jury know what his actions have cost the Sault Tribe and the tribal citizens not only in dollars but in our trust in tribal government and our reputation in all the tribal communities.

I will be out of touch for a few hours while I do a little kayaking in the St. Mary's River but I will answer all your emails and phone calls later this evening. I hope all of you voted for someone other than the incumbents who have shown us how badly they served us.

Do You Care Enough? Now is the time

On Tuesday - May 18, 2010 at the Ojibway hotel in the Sault bright and early at nine o'clock that is the day that your Sault Tribe elected will decide whether Bouschor and co-conspirators should return the 2.66 million dollars stolen from the tribe.

Under normal circumstances, there wouldn't even be a question. Of course they should return the money.

But, we are talking about a corrupt government that has supported the abuse of power, mismanagement and reckless spending for decades. We are talking about a group of people that have squandered hundreds of millions of dollars (whether it was due to ignorance or ego) and have never been held accountable.

Now is the time. The courts have ruled...BOUSCHOR GAVE AWAY MILLIONS--ILLEGALLY. His co-conspirators, attorney's Green, Janetta and Shagen led the way for them to take from the coffers and cover their tracks. Fortunately, they bungled that and were discovered shortly after.

Bouschor has cost the tribal Elders their legacy.
Now is the time. Citizens need to be heard. Citizens need to be present.

Sault Ste. Marie, Mi...

The court has ordered all board members to be on hand if need be to mediate the election eve payout case with defendant / director Bouchour. Three courts have ruled that the former chairman wrongfully paid out $2,600,000.00 to a close circle of his supporters.

Which side of the aisle will defendant / director Bouchour be on. Already barred from holding a directors position by a secretarial election and a subsequent court ruling, nevertheless this defendant / director / politician / tribal member retains a board seat.

Can this rogue board be counted on to do the right thing...let's not kid ourselves. The likelihood is strong here that director Bourchour nor the board will recuse him from voting on the tribe's case against him and the other defendents, Green, Weaver, Scott and Jenatta.

One of which is actually a tribal mediator, himself. Will Dave Scott be recused from arbitrating his own case...it's your guess. What do you think?

Please show up Tuesday to let the board know what your thoughts are about recovering the $ 2,600,000.00. It's your money, it was wrongfully paid out, don't let the politicians decide this one without having your say.

P.S....please forward to family and friends.

Thank you, Charles Forgrave

Bright and early nine o'clock

Sault Ste. Marie, Mi... Tuesday morning the Saulttribe's board will meet at the Ojibway Hotel. Many tribal members will be at work, but if you're not please plan to attend. This may be your last chance to have a say about the election eve payout of $ 2,600.000.00 of the public's money.

The tribal board has been ordered by the court to meet with the defendent, director Bourchor in and attempt to settle the case. The $ 2,600.000.00 is fully recoverable. Three courts have ruled in favor of the tribe, indicating the former chairman had neither the authority to make the payouts to high ranking tribal officials, nor the right to sovernign immunity to protect himself from civit suit.

Please show up and support recovering the money.

P.S....please forward this email to family and friends.

Thank you, Charles Forgrave

SAY NO TO INCUMBENTS...UNACCOUNTABILITY AND NEVER-ENDING FAILURES!

When making the all important decision of who to vote for , you must consider either past performance, credentials and reputation.

Among the six candidates running for Unit 1... half of them have already established at least one of the above elements to consider.

Hoffman was adamant about keeping Fred Paquin as Chief of Police, on the payroll, despite the charges of beating a tribal woman, threatening her father's employment, keeping quiet about the 2.66 million dollar giveaway and the federal charges of theft against him.
So Hoffman has a "past performance" for you to take into consideration.

McKelvie called into question the right of every Sault Tribe / Mackinac Band member to vote in tribal elections. This came during a very critical election time. Suspiciously, many members didn't receive a ballot for the primary or the general election. He has also been a staunch supporter of Benard Bouschor and voted to allow him to run for office despite the overwhelming results of a tribal referendum. He voted against the will of the people. He also played a roll in the tribe not having the newly proposed constitution.
So, McKelvie also has "past performance" for you to consider.

Pine denies any wrongdoing by her uncle Benard, to this day. She would attack anyone that said different.
She wants in. IN A BIG WAY !
So, although she doesn't have credentials, past performance she does have a reputation for backing her family instead of supporting what's right for the people.

The three candidates remaining are Wayne Goetz, Dierdrie J. Malloy and Barbara Smutek.
When you examine their reputations, credentials and past performance, you will see a refreshing group of citizens that are truly willing to serve the community.

Tom Biron:

My opinion is that we need to keep tribal members informed of the history of corruption because the crime leadership, elected offiicial, and administrative support are still involved at high levels in our community. The new candidates entering this administration have to be prepared with facts and a good sense of truth and knowledge of the injustices that have plagued our tribal community since federal recognition so they can protect us from this organized crime syndicate.

http://turtletalk.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/sault-tribe-motion-for-leave-to-appeal.pdf

This file has all of the sordid details of the payoff (est. 2.6 million dollars). It is a must read if you want names, places, details of who was paid, who is still involved, who did the behind the scenes crimes etc. This should have been released to our tribe members in our paper immediately. Why was it published everywhere else but in our community? Because they have no respect for us. It is easier to lie than confess I guess.

GREETINGS FROM AARON PAYMENT

As a Member who is concerned about the Tribal Elder Fund, I felt it was important that you know the Tribal Board of Directors has directed nearly the full use of the Elder fund as an unsecured loan to the Greektown Casino. This is money the Tribe will never recover. Also, though the Tribal Chairperson and Board have boasted about balancing the budget in January 2009 and 2010, they only did so because they used the Elder fund as collateral to take our a loan. This is a false positive or deficit and debt spending. The worst part is that Elders have had their annual dividend decreased, while the Tribal Council continues to have their pay uninterrupted.

Vote for DJ Malloy to restore the Elder Fund, for Board Member Term Limits and Reduced Board Pay. Vote for Education and Communication.

Use your vote to make sure your voice is heard at the board table.

Please Vote Malloy for Unit 1 Representative.

The DON"T DUO

Do the people of Unit 1 really think that Dennis McKelvie or DJ Hoffman have earned their money?

Have they displayed the character and leadership expected of a Sault Tribe Director?
Have they promoted community healing?

Not really.

These two are responsible for many offensive behaviors that brought shame to the tribal family.
McKelvie wants to purge all of the Mackinac Band folks from the voting roll.
Hoffman stood behind Paquin...all the way baby!

Have they represented you the way you hoped for?

BREAKING NEWS...

Air Spill at Wind Farm...No Threats Reported

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/03/breaking-large-air-spill_n_560762.html

From the St. Ignace News...

Trial Moved to June for Paquin, Cullen
The trial dates of Fred Paquin, 52, and his daughter, Mary Cullen, 28, both of St. Ignace, have been rescheduled to June 21, with final pretrial conferences set for June 7, and a request has been made by the plaintiffs for separate trials. The outcome of that request, made Monday, April 26, has yet to be decided. The trials were originally to begin April 27.
WHY DIEDRIE JO (HANCHERA) MALLOY

VOTE DJ MALLOY TO REPRESENT YOU IN UNIT 1

For Restoration of the Elder Fund and Lost Services
With your support, we will offer legislation to begin the replacement of Elder funds and restore programs and services dollar for dollar with any board request for new spending.

For Term Limits, Reduced Board Pay and Separation of Powers
With your support we will offer legislation that provides for separation of powers, term limits
and reduced board pay. Until a pay reduction is passed and in effect, I promise to donate at
least one week’s pay per month to a charitable cause benefiting tribal members.

For Accountability and Regular Communication
I promise to hold regular Unit 1 Meetings and to be available to you with office hours. I promise honest and accurate monthly Unit Reports, to push for an up to date website and publication of board meeting minutes. As your representative I will take responsibility, and expect accountability, for my actions or inactions; always remembering I am one of you, not above you.

If you have questions or want more information, please contact me

djmalloy@centurytel.net

WHY DIEDRIE(DJ)MALLOY? BECAUSE THERE IS NO BETTER CHOICE!
Vote Malloy for Unit 1 Representative
WHY NOT DJ HOFFMAN?
DJ Hoffman didn't want Fred Paquin, the former Sault Tribe police chief who was arrested and charged for 18 counts of assorted crimes against the tribe and its members, suspended or fired for an assault against a woman.

Hoffman wanted to put Paquin in as CEO of Greektown even after the assault. Hoffman was very vocal about protecting Fred Paquin and even voted to remove Aaron Payment as Paquin's superior so that Aaron couldn't suspend or fire Paquin.

Hoffman didn't want the lawsuit against Bernard Bouschor to continue and supported Bouschor through much of Hoffman's term as director. Hoffman kept secrets from the members about the truth of Greektown.

In other words, DJ Hoffman voted in favor of everything that was wrong with the tribe that grew much worse with his support, but he did finally remember the tribal members and the good of all...a year away from reelection time when he could become jobless like so many others he helped to put in the unemployment lines.

Why not DJ Hoffman? The question is WHY Hoffman?

Sault Tribe vs. Bernard Bouchour

Sault Ste. Marie, Mi...On March 29Th, 2010 the circuit court ordered the Sault Tribe vs. Bernard Bouchour case to be mediated in the Soo before May 28Th. Parties shall have all person in attendance as necessary to have full authority to settle the case.

This may require the full presence of the Sault Tribe Board of Directors. Judge Johnson ordered the time and date for the meeting to be scheduled before April 2, 2010. At the time of this letter, the time and date and location of it is not available to this writer.

On election eve in 2004, subsequent to losing the election to Chairman Aaron Payment, then Chairman Bouchour paid out $2,600,000.00 to key employees. The tribe took the former chairman to court soon after, contending the former chairman had acted outside of his authority.

Previously to this mediation an appellate court issued a summary ruling in favor of the Soo Tribe, that ruling was subsequently upheld by the Michigan Supreme Court. If parties to the case cannot agree on a settlement, the case is set to go to jury trial in October. The trial will convene on the 12Th through the 15Th, and again on the 18Th through the 22ND.

Thank you, Charles Forgrave

Now is your chance to take a stand. As soon as place, date and times are available I will announce them here. Bring your signs and let the courts know how you feel about what Bernard Bouschor did to the Sault Tribe.

RHETORIC or INSANITY

2010 SAULT TRIBE ELECTION and INCUMBENTS...TAKE YOUR PICK: RHETORIC or INSANITY

Sault Ste. Marie,Mi...Which is it..a loan or a surplus. A letter has recently come to light addressed to the board and sent by the tribe's chief financial officer. In it, the officer answers board questions about the status of a $5,000,000.00 loan from a local bank, taken out in 2008 to balance the budget.

The financial officer points out that the tribe has made a good faith payment of $500,000.00 plus dollars this year and is negotiating with the bank to extend the loan for another six months. The elders lands' claim money was put up as collateral when the bank rejected a land proposal.

Here we are in 2010, and now this same board is boasting in the tribal newsletter about a projected $5,000.000.00 budget surplus for this year. Is there some deceptive rhetoric going on here..there obviously is. At the very least, it's very imaginative accounting.

The likelihood is that the board is playing politics. After all, this rogue board has always had an image problem and it is an election year.

Thank you, Charles Forgrave
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deceptive rhetoric is what we have been getting for the last couple of years. It's time tribal members stopped accepting what the incumbents continue to feed us. We've seen what happens when the Board of Directors is complacent because they are unchallenged. They know that as incumbents, they don't need to try very hard to be reelected.

Albert Einstein said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Are we insane voting the same old non-productive board back to perform the same old non-productive nothings? Can you make a great sandwich from a loaf of stale bread? Before you decide to vote for the same old nothings ask them for a resume of all their actual accomplishments that brought real benefits to the tribe. Don't accept what they would like to do or what they voted to do or not to do, but what actions they took personally that actually benefited you as an individual or proved to be real tangible benefits for the entire tribe. The truth may surprise you.

Lynne Weaver
Our right to make changes through referendum is the one voice we have left....use it.
