Tribal Election 2008....A Battle for Justice

Sault Ste. Marie, Mi...Unit one candidate Bouchour of The Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians is a handsome man who exudes confidence and presents himself well, as though he knows what he's doing...but then it goes down hill from there.

But Charles....
Handsome is not a word I would ever use to describe a person such as Bouschor because I can't get past the evilness of someone who would take so much from the members and give so little back. So many seem to forget that the land claims belongs to the tribe. With a tribe so large, why have we not become more successful. The tribe did not fail when Bouschor left...it was failing long before but covered up with paper figures. The real money is missing....maybe stored somewhere for safe keeping until reclaimed by those that believe they are the rightful owners.

With so much on the verge of discovery, Bouschor and his co-conspirators are desperately trying to regain control. The outcome of the lawsuit depends on his return as well as returning the balance of the board to favor Bouschor. There will be a war like none other now that Bouschor has his warriors lined up and prepared to take over, once and for all. If the best candidates in the last election thought they had it bad, just wait until this battle begins. All those that represented what is good and right were destroyed by the Bouschorists.

The hope for the Bouschorists is that Bouschor, McCoy, Hoffman, and Abramson, will be able to regain control for the "core families", as Abramson so foolishly revealed. Paquin will be allowed to double dip, triple dip, or dip however he desires if the Bouschorists regain full power. Lana Causley, along with her father John will have the resources to fight for their defense. The Causleys and the Boushourists fill together like pieces of a puzzle.

Will Candidate McCoy be a part time chairman...Not being forthcoming, is it fair to say that Candidate McCoy will be another smoke-and-mirrors act...as the old political pros like to call it. Wherein the candidate tells the members all about his accomplishments and promises them integrity, honesty, and transparency, attacks his opponent and if and when he's elected...does what he wants and becomes a one man show, answering to no one.....

Charles, just ask some of McCoys' former employees how they feel about McCoy. Some had years of service and made a good living until McCoy took over the marine business on Portage Avenue in the Soo. Their wages were dropped to a fraction of what they made before. While some quit, others remained because they had families to support and the jobless rate in the Soo did not give them an opportunity to find other work.

McCoy, within a very short time, has junked up the waterfront at an embarrassing rate. What a shame for the residents who live across the street that now have their view obstructed with rusted metal and piles of junk everywhere and what an embarrassment to have an influential tribal member destroying our Earth that we have fought to preserve.
Where once, the excess marine parts were stored compacted and neat, McCoy obtained more property adjacent to the original parcel and has spread the junk from one end to another. Now the waterfront that the Indians once built their villages on is now an insult to the rest of us. McCoy simply has a bigger yard, not filled with junk cars, but filled with much larger ships and rusted metal parts. What a way to represent the Indians of the Sault Tribe.....just what we need for the perception that some have of Indians to be substantiated in such a big way.

But we can't leave Dennis McKelvie out of the discussion. McKelvie is a 'Sugar Islander' who will pay the price because he always seems to be following his own agenda with the exception (just lately) of how he seems to have taken on all the attribrutes of a true Bouschorist...perhaps for self-preservation? McKelvie is a no-class fist pounder who has never been able to define who he really is. He sways this way and then that way, not for the sake of the best interest of the tribe, but for the best interest of his feeble attempts to achieve that title that has always been so far out of his reach...Chairman.

McKelvie lacks the ability to be a politician beyond his own sphere of influence. He alienates those outside his circle and will never obtain the title of Chairman as long as the At-Large members are allowed to vote. Could that be the reason that McKelvie was first to push for disenrollment and to take away the right to vote from Mackinac Band members?

If Bouschor returns, some things may return to 'normal' which is....members getting little with many being denied basic services such as medical and dental care, employees will be fired, several will be threatened and harassed at their workplace outside the tribe and all because of their lack of Bouschorism, their faithlessness to a self-proclaimed creator, and their desire to share what should be shared with all of us.

On the other hand, the Bouschorists will be treated to phoney certificates and degrees of educational accomplishments in order to 'qualify' them for the best positions. Their wages will be far above what others more deserving can ever hope for. The less than 1/4 blood and the non-Indian Bouschorists will be made "indian or more Indian" for the purpose of obtaining the Michigan Indian Tuition Waiver. The Bouschor "Family and Friends" will once again be treated to those long awaited vacations at the tribe's expense. With the McCoy and Bouschor's extended families being what they are, don't expect much left over for the members of the tribe.

Register to vote and ask for proof that you are registered. Gather together on election night and follow (literally) the process from the ballots collected at the post office to the tallying and posting of the counts. Bring your cameras, binoculars or other recording equipment and travel in groups. Write letters to the FBI, the BIA and the Secretary of Interior, Fox News, CNN, or anyone else that may like to be part of the show.....can't hurt, right?

This will be a battle for justice......please participate.
