Chief of Police Fred Paquin Suspended
Written by Todd Gravelle
Sault Ste. Marie, MI-- Today (May 2, 2008) it was disclosed that the Tribe's Chief of the Police, Fred Paquin has been suspended again.
Previously, I have disclosed in unit reports that he should have been investigated for allegations surrounding sexual harassment. He should have also been terminated for off-duty misconduct by beating a tribal woman.
The board (Cathy Abramson, Joe Eitrem and others) ignored the Chairman and myself in our attempts to terminate Paquin's employment. They sold out the victim and the Tribe due to board politics.
Today we learned that he has been suspended again by the CFO (Victor Matson). The FBI and BIA are conducting a massive internal investigation surrounding allegations of misappropriation of tribal funds. This is outrageous if these allegations turn out to be true.
I have been arguing all along that we need to end this corruption. The only way we can do it is by adopting a new Constitution. Please help me and cast your vote for me to end corruption once and for all.
