Truth or nonsense is the question but the rumor is that casinos in Hessel, Christmas and Manistique are in line to have their doors closed.
With the economy in a steady downturn, it is not a surprise that casinos would bite the dust along with many other forms of entertainment not required for daily survival. If only the Sault Tribe had diversified their business entities rather than rely on casino profits as the end-all of revenue to support the tribe's entire existence.
It will never cease to amaze me of the lack of hindsight and the incredible ability of the Sault Tribe Board of Directors to fail at almost everything and I only say 'almost' because there must be something they have succeeded at lately...right? Oh yes, they have successfully managed to hang onto their excessive board salaries even under the intense scrutiny of the tribal membership.
Let's all give them a hand...right square in the middle of their backs as we shove them out the door.
