"The federal case against the former Chief of Police for the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians and his daughter will be going to trial in April.
According to the U.S. Attorney General's Office, Frederick Paquin and Mary Cullen face multiple charges for allegedly conspiring to defraud the United States be a dishonest means.
Among the offenses, Paquin allegedly paid Cullen as a full-time employee of the tribe after she was no longer working as a full-time employee. They will be tried together.
The initial pretrial in U.S. District Court in Marquette is set for April 15 with a second pretrial scheduled on April 20, and the trial would be held on April 27 unless a plea is entered.
If convicted, both could be sentenced to several years in prison."
