Only one incumbent barely survived the Sault Tribe Election while three directors will be giving up their seats to newcomers. Election results are as follows:
Unit One
DJ Malloy with 1564 votes and Deb Pine with 1547 ousted DJ Hoffman who had only 1182 votes and Dennis McKelvie who received 1132.
Unit Two
Cathy Hollowell won over 485 voters leaving James Kelly with 417.
Unit Three
Keith Massaway was the only incumbent to retain his seat with 752 votes in a close race against Doug Goodreau's 680.
Unit Four
Denise Chase was unchallenged.
Unit Five
Joan Carr-Anderson also led a very close race with 262 votes against Shirley Petoskey with 236.
Employees will no longer have to listen to fence-sitter Hoffman threatening them with the loss of their jobs. Mckelvie no longer has to listen to members complaining about his lack of teeth and unkempt manner of dress. No one will have to view Shirley Petoskey giving a head shot of her hind-end nor listen to her accompanying uncouth remarks.
All told, I would say this has been a pretty good night. We didn't win 'em all but we did pretty well. Best wishes to the new directors...you have a tough job ahead.
