No money down!
TRIBAL MEMBERS UNITE - EXERCISE YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL
RIGHT OF REFERENDUM!
Whether you support a Romulus Casino or not, giving away 26% ownership is just plain stupid! Per the 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act and the 1997 Land Claims Settlement Act, the Sault Tribe has a theoretical opportunity to open a casino in Romulus. Instead of the current deal, however, the Sault Tribe should be able to command that any developer put up the development and construction costs, and be rewarded with no more than 10% for five years only.

Sault Ste. Marie, Mi....
Good Evening;
This is an important referendum. The only ones who made any real money off Greektown were the Greeks and Bouchour. Let's not let it happen again. Be sure to get you name on this referendum and put a stop to it before it's too late. They want another big financial deal in Detroit in the hopes of reaping another big payoff for themselves. Neither of them have any money of their own in this deal. The same as it was with Greektown, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain...just from consumating the transaction itself. The casino can fail and they will still make out...as they did with Greektown. The only ones with something to lose are you, the individual tribal member. Because it's your money they want to invest.
Please say no to them...
Thank you, Charles Forgrave
On Tuesday - November 9, 2010, a simple majority of the Tribal Board of Directors voted to give-a-way 26% ownership of a possible casino near Romulus to "The Greek" Ted Gatzaros and a business partner.

Just consider what the margin is for most businesses
Bouschor is giving away the profit and leaving the tribe with the operating cost
This should be stopped....especially if it is the last chance that the tribe will have to recover from Bouschor's other bad deal
I don't understand why do you guys always look for a developer? With all the casinos you have you should be able to it by yourself!
Oh I see you are Aaron's mouthpiece again. You do not even know what benefit this investment could provide. Just because the Board was stupid enough to give Greektown away to the Greeks years and years ago does not make Ted G a thief. It was a business deal, how dense are you. Was Ted supposed to say'Oh Gee, please do not give me so much money, it just is not right "....But there is busybody Aaron running to try and throw a roadblock into anything he can. When are you all going to realize that Aaron's only mission is to destroy Bernard. That is all he cared about during his four years as Chair and all he has focused on ever since. He will destroy the tribe in his efforts.
Anonymous Deb Pine?
Aaron Payment wants to stop the corruption that has kept the Sault Tribe from realizing its real potential. BOUSCHOR happens to be a key element in that mismanagement, abuse of power, nepotism and reckless behavior. That is why the "people" voted to ban Bouschor from tribal government in a "binding" referendum.
Obviously, the corruption continues. Mr. Payment's job isn't done.
He has been the lone voice against the theft of tribal resources.
You must have a problem with that.
If Ted's a business man, and he ripped of Bernard for whatever reason. He essentially ripped of the tribe. So why does it make any sense to you that we do business with this guy? Obviously he is a snake who our own board cannot successfuly negotiate a deal that benefits out members. Perhaps it's 1/2 of our boards lack of common sense or inability to not get ripped off. So most common sense intelligent people know this...so why they hell would we do business with this guy again? Your logic makes no sense. People were already talking referendum before AP put one out. So pipe down on the AP mouth piece. People have drawn their own conclusions about this issue as well as many others. Get off the see saw and help out. Whether your for AP or against, this issue has to do with doing what is right.
Insid was kind enough to remind us all......
Here are a few comments in the Las Vegas Sun regarding Greektown The writing was on the wall even before it was a done deal
The lone dissenter in Tuesday's vote was Paula Blanchard, who said there were "some nagging questions" about the casino. Without elaborating, she said they included concerns the casino has created "serious conflicts and divisions within the tribe," and that the financing could be "stretched very thin," among other things.
Last month, Bonnie McKerchie, who ran unsuccessfully for a tribal board seat in June, said she thinks the tribe has committed too much to the Greektown Casino, and that the venture was "too risky." "A lot of members didn't want Greektown, but we weren't asked," she told the Detroit Free Press. "We have five casinos; a less-risky investment would have been fine. This isn't a Monopoly game."
Others are upset that the tribe put up as collateral one of its new trust funds, a $19.7 million federal land-claims settlement that pays every elder $1,200 a year. Tribal leaders promised to put $10 million in casino profits into the fund.
Despite the critical observations
Bouschor has said he's confident the Greektown casino will do better than some people expect
My first instinct was that the person calling me Aaron's mouthpiece was Deb Pine. I see I am not along with that line of thinking. If anyone can be criticized for being the mouthpiece for another, it is definitely Pine (speaking on behalf of the notorious Bernard Bouschor) hands down....or maybe it is hands up as in 'grease my palm'!
Thanks Insid for digging up that valuable reminder that Bouschor's business 'sense' is worthless to this tribe...just as it has always been.
One poster brings up an excellent point. What is the profit margin for our casinos? What precisely is the budgeted gross profit expectation? What does 26% amount to in terms of dollars? If anyone thinks that part of this won't end up in Bouschor's pocket, they better wake up now!
