Bouschor Plans Attack on Residents of Charlotte Beach

Now that Bouschor is back on board, is this what Sault Tribe members can expect from him....attacks and violence against innocent people? Charlotte Beach residents purchased their property legally...as far as they knew. To threaten to physically evict children, the elderly and families is horrible. This threat needs to be taken seriously by the authorities.

Tony Grondin wrote:
I agree it's time to take possesion of what's ours. That's what they did hundreds of years ago when they displaced our people to build the locks which has much to do with why we have claim to Charlotte Beach. Liens can be put on all private property. We need Bay Mills commitment too.TG-----

Subject: Evict Charlotte Beach Residents. Evict Charlotte Beach Residents. Last week the United States Congress denied Sault Tribe and Bay Mills a land swap that would allowed us to expand our gaming operations in lower Michigan. To them it's ok for big white owned companies to open up casinos anywhere> in United States. However, if your an Indian Tribe then your "Reservation shopping" or some other trumped up excuse to stop Tribe's from growing beyond the reservation. If they don't want to do a land swap, fine! EVICT THE RESIDENTS OF CHARLOTTE BEACH AREA AND RECLAIM OUR LAND.

Try a Little Educamacation!

rich has left a new comment on your post "I'm So Confused!!!": Orange back back, just what I am going to use to hide something in. You defnately are not a cop, nor an investigato. I had a few moments of difficulty trying to translate the above comments from Rich. The part I found interesting is the logic why one prospers over the other....we get it. That is exactly what we have been saying for the last several years. Thank you so much for reiterating that. You might want to use some of that prosperity from being a Bouschor fan and get an education.

I'm So Confused!!!

There were a lot of inquiries through emails and phone calls from members wanting information about what to do about the election results. So many are concerned about the future of the tribe with yet another addition to the Sault Tribe of Unit One Indians.

I bounced back and forth between different groups of members gathered at the Big Bear Arena to observe the election count process therefore my opinion that I am expressing is also the opinion of all those I spoke to throughout the evening.

Joe Eitrem and Cathy Abramson were the top two vote getters in unit one with Bernard Bouschor and Nathan Wright playing tag early on. Nathan began to lengthen the distance between himself and Bouschor, finally maintaining a lead of approximately 100 votes...give or take a few. When the tally stopped and it appeared that all votes were in, it was clear that Eitrem, Abramson and Wright had won the available seats, so I left.

Shortly after, we received a call saying that Bouschor had the 3rd spot instead of Wright. It seems that Isaac McKechnie, long time close friend of Bernard Bouschor, somehow discovered that not only had hell frozen over but a large quantity of ballots had not been counted. It just so happened that those ballots were votes for Bouschor which put him ahead of Wright by a handful of votes. Imagine that!

Add to that the mysterious backpack girl. Several members observed a large orange backpack and white bag located within the ballot count area which is not allowed. All other bags were far removed from the ballot count area. As I moved closer to take a picture with my trusty cellphone camera, several of the election committee members, who were watching me watching them, scooped up the bags and placed them on the table and then stood in front of them. It seemed to those observing that they were attempting to hide the bags from view.

They continued to give me the evil eye but eventually the young woman with the backpack placed the bag on her back, paced around for several minutes, walking to one side then the other and back again but still managed to slip out unobserved. I was told that no one who was in the ballot count area was to leave until all ballots were counted and the election was considered complete. So...not only were there bags and backpacks in an area where they were not allowed but also the caretaker/owner left along with the bags at a time when she was not allowed to leave.

Of course, the rules may have been broken but the word 'allowed' is inaccurate in the above statement since the backpack girl was 'allowed' to keep the bags in an area that they should not have been and she was also 'allowed' to leave before the count was done. She was 'allowed' to do this by the election chairman Mike McKerchie since it is his responsibility to ensure an honest and accurate election whenever he figures out how to do that.

Good thing that McKerchie and most of the election committee are all related to each other or to Cathy Abramson who has managed to win another 4 year term...how many is this? How does she do that when no one knows what she has done during all those years except take trips all over the country? Isn't she related to Joe McCoy too?

Good thing Bernard Bouschor is such a good friend of Joe McCoy's so he can lead him around and tell him how to run the tribe using his numerous years of experience as the former chairman. Good thing the election chairman Mike McKerchie is a great friend to Bouschor as well. With Bouschor's buddy, Isaac McKechnie as McKerchie's right hand man, they were able to ensure that all the good friends and relatives on the election committee worked well together as a winning team even if it meant overlooking a few silly rules.

One thing I don't understand though is why so many members did not get ballots in the primary but the number of voters that normally vote didn't seem out of whack. The explanation given on the rare occasion that requests were answered was that there was a problem with the address. Funny how that happens when most say they didn't move and were receiving all other tribal mail including all the campaign materials.

Then there was the large number of members who received a ballot for the primary election that didn't get one for the general election even though they didn't move in that short time period. What do you suppose happened there?

The more I think about it the more I realize that something just doesn't add up here...like ballot counts.....like votes. Actually folks, I am faking the stupidity since we all know what this adds up to. What cracks me up was the dirty looks on the faces of those trying to obscure the view of the bags as if I had some nerve to notice. Comments made, which won't be published on this blog, suggest that I should just shut up and go away. The nerve of me, or anyone else for that matter, to question or be suspicious.

Rumors, Rumors and Truth

In just a couple of days we will find out the fate of the Sault Tribe members. Rumors are abound with many fearing the return of Bouschor and being assisted in the final takeover by Joe McCoy.
Bouschor has no shortage of directors who are willing to walk behind him and vote as he wishes.

Hundreds of members complained they did not receive a ballot in order to vote in the primary election and the most popular excuse given was that the address was an issue. How does that explain that some who did receive a ballot for the primary did not receive one for the general election? I guess when that top layer of ballots mysteriously filled themselves out and walked to the post office anything can happen. Did someone screw up by not skimming the same members for the general election that they did in the primary?

A very reliable source suggested that payoffs to several directors to the tune of $25,000 each were made in order to vote a certain way regarding one of the Greektown deals preceding the bankruptcy. True? Who knows? Is it feasible? Hell yes!

DJ Hoffman has spent the last 2 years trying to shut up tribal members who question him on rumors of his participation in the pink postcard mailing during the last chairman's election and other questionable acts, going so far as threatening them with lawsuits, going to their employer, and the department that licenses them (that would be me, by the way).

Hush hush of an investigation by the FBI and BIA, in particular of Fred Paquin, are said to be true. A clue would be that his office was raided and his secretary interrogated resulting in Paquin being suspended again as Police Chief of the Sault Tribe.

Several directors which seem to be led by Dennis Mckelvie are said to be plotting against Mackinac Tribe members to take away all rights and benefits. Sounds like a case of 'now that we have what we want of yours....beat it!'

McKelvie and Joe McCoy are also said to be discussing the same fate for At-Large members.

Along with all of the above this year alone, there have been previous reports of misappropriations that have occurred for at least a decade. Bouschor's involvement in numerous "failed" business's, including the North Country Bank could explain where a lot of the money went.

I have used "said" throughout because people are talking. All rumors?.....I guess we will find out eventually. When this election is over, regardless of the results, I have learned that it is a waste of time to battle a Board of Directors who have the power to do what they want regardless of who they are paid to represent and the lies they told to get elected. Unless there is a seperation of powers as provided by the new constitution, the members can just forget about trying to have a say in their own government.

Another thing I have come to terms with is that it will take a hostile takeover to rid the tribe of corruption but complacency is easier for most. When our Mackinac Tribe Elders, your parents and grandparents, lose their right to medical and dental care as well as the medications they need to survive, will you still look the other way?

Alert from the Center of Disease Control!!!

The Centers for Disease Control has issued a
medical alert about a highly contagious, potentially
dangerous virus that is transmitted orally, by hand,
and even electronically. This virus is called Weary
Overload Recreational Killer (WORK).

If you receive WORK from your boss, any of your
colleagues or anyone else via any means whatsoever -
DO NOT TOUCH IT.

This virus will wipe out your private life
completely. If you should come into contact with
WORK you should immediately leave the premises.

Take two good friends to the nearest grocery
store and purchase one or both of the antidotes -
Work Isolating Neutralizer Extract (WINE) and
Bothersome Employer Elimination Rebooter (BEER).

Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been
completely eliminated from your system.

You should immediately forward this medical alert
to five friends.

If you do not have five friends, you have already
been infected.

P.S. Don't try this at work or take this too
seriously.

Missing Ballots NOT Missing?

With the usual 6 to 8 board members controlling the tribe could this be what happened to the
missing ballots? Not missing....just never mailed by order of Dennis McKelvie and 6 unidentified board members?

If it is going to be claimed that what was said was not said, how is placing it verbatim and the video clip on the web politicizing the issue?

In Dennis' statement, he clearly identifies that he met with (and I assume worked out an arrangement with six other Board members) where by he felt confident enough to claim that the Mackinac Band desdendants would not be permitted to vote. If what he said was true, that six others had already decided this (in a secret meeting outside of a duly called Board member per our Constitution?) then I felt it necessary to write about it and to inform the Members. Were you one of the Board six members who concurred with his flawed analysis? Remember, we granted him and Richard Mastaw the requisite authority to conduct this election. McKelvie was clearly saying, unless the Board votes to overturn his decision, these Members (all 15,000?!) not be allowed to vote. McKelvie would actually deny them?!

You asked me who I blind copied my message to. That, quite frankly is none of your business - really who do you think you are?

If these Members want you to have their email, addresses, they'll give it to you. Don't you recall the elder at the Okemos meeting clarifying that when they give me their emails addresses, that they are not consenting to you having it? Blind copying my updates allows for the Members to see what is going on without the fear of reprisal from Board members who seem to be insisting that they have these emails that were not given to these Board members.

Subject: Video Clip Regarding Claim that Mackinac Band Descendants
Cannot Vote in Secretarial Election

As promised, attached is a video clip that shows what was said regarding
whether or not the Mackinac Band Descendants can vote in the up coming
secretarial election. Yesterday, I sent a verbatim transcript, but to
avoid any accusations that words were misrepresented, you can click on
the attached and see for yourself.

Also, I am submitting this to the Sault Tribe Communications Department
to attach this video clip as a link to the Tribal Web page in the
section regarding the secretarial election. There was no objection from
the Tribal Board of Directors yesterday when I asked if there was any
objection. I will try to have the video clip on the web page by the end
of the day today. Again, by 5pm today, if the Board objects, they need
to do so in writing to me and copied in reply all to this message.

Thank you.

For the record, Director DJ Hoffman asked how many Tribal Members
received this message. The response is well over 600 Members.
Additionally, I am aware that a half dozen recipients forward the Chair
updates to another 400 or so members.

Saving Mother Earth...

From one of those friends I have never met but hope to keep....

I hear the wind gently whispering into my ears
I see a glint of sunlight off of the rippling waters
The trees tell me it is time
Mother is tired and needs my attention
I pray I am strong enough to tend to her as she has tended to me
Though I may stumble, I will not falter
It is my time now.

-Meddle not in the affairs of Dragons for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Saving Mother Earth

Four years ago I celebrated, along with thousands of other tribal members, the overturn of a dictatorship...or so we thought. Many of us worked together to fight the battle we didn't know could be won. We were honored to have fought alongside those with nothing and those who were the most prestigious members of our tribe. Social status did not matter because we all had the same common goal.

We almost made it but the odds were against us. There are only a handful who lack the fear it takes to keep quiet. Still, others spoke up but with no goals in mind other than to beat up on anyone that dared to divert attention from their maniacal rantings and ravings.

There was a world of education to be had about our culture, traditions, the dynamics of tribal politics including everything you ever wanted to know about corruption.

I risked everything to give it all I had. Did I lose?....not by a long shot. Much of what I lost will come back to me tenfold. Everything that occurred happened for a reason, pointing me in directions I didn't know were there.

I gained a large community of friends, some of whom I may never meet but plan to keep and those I met whose path I may never cross again. All of them will play a large role in my future whether they know it or not.

If every person that I came in contact with either in person, via email or because I provided a phone number, were, in one form or another, a door...I have walked through hundreds. In doing so, I have found a world that I had forgotten about...the real one. The one with opportunities where you are not limited to what you can achieve. There are more important issues then the Sault Tribe of Sugar Island and Unit One Indians.

I feel badly for those that will lose their jobs if the Sault Tribe ends up with Chairman McCoy/Bouschor. Some will probably find their doctors and dentist appointments cancelled repeatedly. Both Mackinac Tribe and At Large members may never see another ballot with which to cast their vote. Elders may never see another check with their name printed on it from their land claims. Many will become nothing more than a head count for federal funds.

As I told one candidate, "if you lose, you have won as long as you take yourself out of here and discover the real world." Take a negative and turn it into a positive...that is what I intend to do. "Wind Weaver" were words intended to insult me but what it did was become a goal to work towards.

So I can't save the Sault Tribe but I can save Mother Earth and that is where much of my attention will be going from now on. We can't continue to take from the Earth what we can't put back. We can all be a part of saving Mother Earth so stay tuned to learn how you can help.

Comments to the Dark Side

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Ominous Sounds From the Dark Side":
I wouldn't be surprised if that post was sent by DJ or even Fred. I think it is disgracefull that either of them are on our Tribal Board. DJ's home has been in foreclosure what, four or five times, in the past two years ? And he is supposedly in charge of the Tribe's budget ? Fred , the Chief of Police, has been suspended twice now in the past year for investigations and misconduct. And he is in a leadership position in our Tribe ? In my opinion both of them should immediately resign.

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Ominous Sounds From the Dark Side":
Sounds like Rich is threatening you. Better call the police chief...of wait, you can't. He is on suspension. Again.

Who's RICH?

Thanks "Anonymous" for the heads up and the thumbs up and
I think you are absolutely right about RICH.

Ominous Sounds From the Dark Side

RICH has left a new comment on your post "Billy Bouschor.....Missing in Action":
And your slanderous remarks about Fred Paquin are not just as wrong as Bill Boushor's inacurate portrait of other figures. You my dear need to keep your big mouth shut and quit putting your foot in your mouth. First you slam DJ about foreclosure but defend Pat Rickley who lost his home recently to foreclosure, then this bull shit about damaging reputations. You are just as guilty as anyone, and your day will come in the sunshine, little miss.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rich...Is that your real name or just what you hope to be after the election?
I don't say anything about Fred Paquin that hasn't already been published and
it is his own doing that gained him a reputation that is lower than dirt. Be prepared to stick your foot in your mouth.

As far as DJ Hoffman goes, he has been in foreclosure off and on for more than 2 years and he has a 2 income family. The housing market only hit rock bottom this year and from what I understand, Pat Rickley lost his due to divorce...entirely different set of circumstances. If you don't understand a simple apples to apples equation and are working for the tribe, no wonder we are in such bad shape.

Don't tell me to shut my mouth unless you have the guts to put your name on your threats, you spineless worm.

Billy Bouschor.....Missing in Action

It was a no-show in court for Bill Bouschor of the rag mag Bouschor Sault Tribe Times. Today was the day Todd Gravelle was the first of Bouschor's victims that would face him down in court.

Bouschor's attorney was there and asked for a continuance of 45 days but it was whittled down to 30 days. Avoidance of facing the music is something Bouschor does well but he can only hold back justice for so long before it catches up and walks all over him.

One assumption that will not be in Bouschor's favor is that many Sault residents (and who knows how many others)believe that the Sault Tribe Times is actually the real Sault Tribe newspaper. Today I spoke to the attorney who quickly resigned from the tribal judicial system, and he also thought it was the real tribal online news until recently.

Not only has the Sault Tribe Times slandered many of our members but also ruined reputations by misleading the general public into believing the lies they posted and printed. The legal battles for the Bouschor Sault Tribe Times have only just begun.....as they will soon find out. Bouschor never expected that anyone would ever fight back so it should be interesting to see how he handles this latest legal battle.

It would seem that the Bouschor family would be keeping the lawyers happy with all the legal fees they have had to pay in the last few years and will continue to pay for years to come. When they are broke and financially devastated, maybe then they will go away.

Billy Goes to Court

*
In just two days, Bill Bouschor comes face to face with Todd Gravelle in court where he will stand before the judge to face the music for his slanderous comments sent through the U.S. Postal Service and posted to the internet, lies claiming that Gravelle was convicted of drug use.

If Bouschor's lies cost Gravelle the election, damages in the form of dollar signs could pile up in favor of Todd Gravelle. This is further proof of the integrity of Gravelle to be one of the few who are prepared to take a stand against Bouschor's slanderous website.

What will be even more interesting is when Bouschor is called upon to produce his financial records including tax forms. Someone is paying his bills since the guy has no real job.

The Bouschor Sault Tribe Times took shape when Bernard Bouschor was tossed out of office four years ago and since then the internet rag mag has sought to slander and destroy everyone responsible while praising those that assist in the process.

Thanks Todd, for sticking to your guns and continuing the fight for justice.

Bouschor....Warning! Warning!

NORTH COUNTRY: Shareholders Commence Derivative Suit in W.D. MI

North Country Financial Corporation shareholders filed a shareholder derivative suit in the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan against the Company and:

(1) Dennis Bittner,
(2) Bernard A. Bouschor,
(3) Ronald G. Ford,
(4) Sherry L. Littlejohn,
(5) Stanley J. Gerou II,
(6) John D. Lindroth,
(7) Stephen Madigan,
(8) Spencer Shunk,
(9) Michael Henrickson,
(10) Glen Tolksdorf,
(11) Wesley Hoffman

The suit was brought under Section 27 of the Exchange Act against the Company and certain of its current and former directors and senior executive officers. The Complaint, which demands a jury trial, is brought on behalf of the Company against the individual defendants.

The suit alleges that the individual defendants have caused loss and damage to the Corporation through breaches of their fiduciary duties of oversight and supervision by Failing:
(i) to adequately safeguard the assets of the Corporation,(ii) to ensure that adequate administrative, operating, and internal controls were in place and implemented,(iii) to ensure that the Corporation was operated in accordance with legally-prescribed procedures, and(iv) to oversee the audit process to ensure that the Corporation's assets were properly accounted for and preserved.

The complaint further alleges that the individual defendants violated Section 14(a) of the Exchange Act by making materially false and misleading statements in the proxy statement mailed to shareholders in connection with the annual meeting of the Corporation held May 29, 2000, and the adoption by theshareholders at that meeting of the Corporation's 2000 StockIncentive Plan.

Volume I, Issue VII
Bouschor’s Actions Suspect in North Country Financial Case

Charles Lanctot, an individual share holder of North Country Financial Corporation (NCFC), filed a class action lawsuit in the United States District Court against Sherry Littlejohn, Ronald Ford and NCFC on June 13, 2003. The plaintiff and others lost a considerable amount of their investment as a result of the deceitful acts of NCFC leadership. As a member of the Board of Directors of NCFC, Bernard Bouschor may be forced to testify before a jury about his interactions with NCFC on behalf of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Alegations against NCFC include: disseminating/approving false statements of material facts; engaging in acts of fraud and deceit in their purchases of NCFC publicly traded securities; maintaining artificially high market prices of NCFC securities; and engaging in a continuous course of conduct to conceal adverse material information about the business, operations and future prospects of NCFC.

The Tribe holds hundreds of thousands of shares of NCFC stock. Bouschor received at least 10,000 shares for being on the NCFC Board of Directors. It is unclear whether he has pocketed these shares or if they have been appropriately added to the Tribe’s holdings. Despite a cease and desist order placed on NCFC earlier this year, the Sault Tribe Board of Directors approved using the Big Bear Arena as collateral for a loan in what amounts to a bail out for the financial corporation.

Bouschor’s actions as a representative of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians on the NCFC Board of Directors are subject not only to the scrutiny of federal justice system, but are also subject to the tribal justice system. The citizenry of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians have entrusted Bouschor, through the tribal Board of Directors, to act on their behalf regarding tribal resources. As such, Bouschor may be subject to a breach of trust case within a tribal court setting. Given the inherent bias of the tribal justice system in Bouschor’s favor, however, it is doubtful that such a case could move forward unbiased. Short of external review by the Bureau of Indian Affairs or the federal justice system, the case would be suspect from the word go.

Incompetent Election Chairman Should be Removed

Reports of ballots not received continue to rise with some members saying they received the envelope that should have contained the ballot for the primary election but there was no ballot inside.

It would seem to be a reasonable assumption that hundreds of members failed to receive a ballot for the primary election since every person I have spoken to claims that at least 1-3 members of their families did not receive ballots and that was just off the top of their heads.

It is time for the Sault Tribe Board of Directors to remove those responsible for such incompetency during an election. Mike McKerchie, election chairman and his sidekick, Isaac McKechnie need to be removed and/or investigated....preferably both.

Remove those that had any part in the preparation of the election or in the mailing of the ballots
and appoint a new group to take over.

Say No More Joe McCoy.....Please!

More comments on Joe McCoys' fiasco campaign speech at the Sault High Seniors Graduation...

"I heard he invited himself since he was an alumnus. Wonder why? Political gain. He made a fool out of himself along with anyone who supports this guy. He could not figure out how to use the micro phone and all he did was look down most of the time. We all had a hard time even understanding him. It was all staged. Some people thought he said he was in the Marines not he his from the Marina . I really hope and pray for the Tribes sake that no one would ever vote for this man! Mr. Sherry introduced him and McCoy kept saying that Mr. Sherry was right that I am running for Chairman of Sault Tribe. Also we received some of the mail you are speaking about and you can tell who got what from whom and who sent it. The slanderous backbiting mail came from McCoy and Eitrem along with Bernard and them. They all spelled our names wrong. Every piece of mail we received from them was all spelled incorrectly and the same spelling. It is pretty bad when we can not let our children answer the phone as they are constantly calling with these rude and very ignorant calls about Aaron. My caller id says 514. Do you know where it is coming from? Also the voice sounds familiar. Like an older woman who speaks."

When Joe McCoy Speaks...Cover Your Ears

A non tribal member sent this to me but since then it seems McCoy's speech has been the 'talk of the town'....or should I say 'whisper or laugh'.
Speaker he is not.

"Mr. McCoy was the key note speaker today at the Sault Area High graduation. I wonder why? He got up and there and said to everyone that he was running for Tribal chairman and also all about his achievements in life. It made me sick. Then he proceeded to tell all the kids graduating to stand and hug each other. The kids and adults looked very confused about this and just laughed. He then said to all the kids present and adults that if it weren't for all veterans, anyone in the room would not be there and they need to thank the veterans and honor them on their special day today too. You should have heard the parents and others laughing and making comments. All because he is running for Chairman now he needs to make public speeches in front of kids etc. And then when he was done he went around and shook hands with people and talking like it was a rally or something. This was a graduation for kids not a political rally.
What a whack job. "

Joe McCoy read his entire speech from a piece of paper at the high school graduation. Instead of the speech to graduating seniors being about their future, McCoy made it about his future as tribal chairman. He gave a campaign speech to
seniors and their attending family and friends.

Most listened in awe at McCoy's speech about himself that lacked what should have contained good grammar, at the very least. Most asked the questions..."why this guy...and who the heck is he?" McCoy bragged of his abilities to run a massive eyesore of a junkyard on the banks of the St. Mary's river and claimed that experience would be enough to run the tribe. Whose brilliant idea was it to have Joe McCoy as the keynote speaker?

The tribe is a large community extending beyond the boundaries of Michigan into the rest of the United States. There are casinos and Mid Jims as well as the governmental side of the tribe. Where is McCoy's experience? He can't clean up his mess on the river let alone the tribe's?

How is McCoy going to represent us if he is unable to speak to the issues? How will he represent the membership if he has never involved himself before? Why do we need McCoy as chairman if he intends to hire out a general manager to manage the tribe? He can't speak and doesn't plan to do anything more than attend meetings so what's the point? How will he represent us in Washington if he has no experience in tribal matters?

What he is good at is smear campaigns....does an excellent job at B.S and nastiness but what good is that to the rest of us other than to get him another paycheck. The guy has no platform...no plans...no nothing. He is just another member of the so-called core family that will take away your rights and benefits but keep you around for the head count and he has the support of Dennis McKelvie that wants Mackinac Band members out along with the At-large members.

Aaron Payment is clearly the only choice for Chairman.

Hoffman in Foreclosure Again!!!

Geez...DJ Hoffman is in foreclosure again!!! How many times is this for Hoffman....4,5, 6 times now. If he can't raise a small family on $67,000 a year...not to mention his wife's wages, how in the world can he manage the finances of the tribe. Pretty clear he didn't know what he was doing there either.

Election 2008 No Room for Incompetence

By RJanetos

Your Ballot....Your Vote...Your Right...Stolen

StolenHundreds, if not thousands, of tribal citizens are asking why they didn't receive their ballot, for the primary election.
Entire families who have a proud tradition of exercising their right to vote, will be locked out of this election.W
as there an address snafu?
Did the software breakdown?
Did members move and not report their address change?
The answer to most of these questions is, NO!
Many members have been in the same address for over twenty years.
They report that they have always received their ballots before.
Some members, that inquired as to their status, with the election committee, found out that they weren't even registered, anymore.
The Election Committee Chairman, Mike McKerchie, reported that he hadn't received any complaints about missing ballots, during a recent board meeting.
He went on to say that he wasn't going to send out a second ballot just because people said they didn't get one.
When asked if these people would be able to receive a ballot in time for the general election, McKerchie said, "NO!"
Where are the ballots?
How could this happen?
What will McKerchie do to restore your right to vote?
He suggests that you write his office and register a complaint.
It won't change anything for you during this election, but maybe you will get to exercise your right to vote during the next election.
That is a very unsettling response coming from someone that has been in charge of the election process and ballots, for so many years. McKerchie stated, " that the only reason members were so vocal about it was because it was a chairman race.
"What did he mean by that?

Reconciling the ballot
It is very easy to reconcile the ballots issued, mailed, received and returned.
It would be an easy matter to reissue a ballot to those that they didn't receive one.It would be an easy matter to determine if a second ballot was cast on behalf of a single individual.
Why not send out a second ballot, in those cases?
However, it is reported that when asked about these numbers, Mike McKerchie doesn't respond.
Who does he work for?
How could he refuse scrutiny?
How could he refuse accountability?

Analysis of Primary Votes
A relative unknown, Darwin McCoy, who changes his mind, at the last minute, and decides to run for chairman instead of director somehow receives a disproportionate amount of votes.
Cathy McCoy Abramson and Benard Booschor receive what has been described as unusual amount of votes when you take into consideration their near bottom rating level. .

Outrage Missing
You don't hear any complaints coming from the directors, Cathy McCoy Abramson, Fred Paquin (suspended police chief), Dennis McKelvie, Joe Eitrem, Lana Causley.
We aren't hearing any outrage from Darwin McCoy or Benard Booschor.
Aren't they interested in making sure that everyone's right to vote is protected?
Wouldn't they care that entire families are being locked out of this important election?
Don't they think that some of the missing ballots might be cast for them?
Or, do they already have a preconceived idea as to which candidates will be hurt most, by this outrageous failure of the election committee?
Could it have been by design?

Recommendation
Every person that didn't receive a ballot should write the Election Committee and the BIA
Contest the election results and reconcile all ballots
Remove Mike McKerchie as the Election Committee Chair for incompetence.
Restore and secure the voter registration data base.
Investigate the Election Committee for any wrong doing
Restore the dignity of the Sault Tribe
Remove those directors that have aided in the downfall of the tribe
Support Chairman Payment
Vote for Todd Gravell, Nathan Wright, Luella Brown, Patrick Rickley and Robert Horn
Our right to make changes through referendum is the one voice we have left....use it.
