Between all the secrets and lies tribal members have been subjected to over the years, right up to the current day, we don't know what to believe. Any and all financial disasters belong to the Greektown management board as well as all 13 people that have sat in front of the members and failed to make the right decisions or who did not speak up on behalf of the members.
The only person that deserves any notable credit is Bob Lapoint who tried his darndest. It was his connection that brought the biggest offer initially a year ago and even though it was ignored, no one else put forth as much effort as he did to save this tribe. For him, it wasn't about saving Greektown, it was about saving the tribe from financial doom.
The others not only failed to listen, they refused to listen partly in cooperation with those that spend their days insulting, slandering and lying about anyone that has made the slightest effort to keep our tribe afloat in "Bouschor's absence".
That is what many thought and still think....that Bouschor was only temporarily displaced so they fought the 4 year battle to destroy financially and ruin the reputation of anyone that had any sort of plan to bring truth and honesty to the tribal members. Beat us down, destroy anyone that gets in the way and keep us hanging by a thread so Bouschor can step out of his pile of millions that belong to the Sault tribe and its members and come back to save us.
BS to that! All one has to do is look at what other tribes have accomplished and provided for their members with a whole lot less federal dollars to work with. Greed, corruption, politics and directors unqualified to do the job is what has gotten us where we are today. If the leader is corrupt those with the potential to be corrupted themselves will follow in order to grasp whatever leftovers may come their way.
Just recently I was told of an act of corruption which was a payoff for a specific vote regarding Greektown. Is it true? I don't know. But,....one of those who supposedly was offered this deal is now claiming someone is performing quite a service for them in a building project...for free. Now how many builders does anyone know during these hard times that would offer up their labor (and labor of others) and costs for free...for what reason? Another has a brand new vehicle within the last few weeks when the continuance of that persons paycheck is in question. Should we be suspicious? I am because of their record of leaning to the side of corruption and away from the members.
Remember all Bouschor's 'failures', (and I say that with a note of skepticism)? If he could not keep 30 plus small business's up and running, why would anyone think he knew what he was doing with Greektown? Greektown was down the tubes for the members of the Sault tribe from the very start and it was Bouschor that contrived that deal.
Where did all the profits go? Business fails for several reasons,....no feasibility studies prior to launch, no long term business plan, unqualified and improper management, economic slowdown, Skimming off the top and Embezzlement. This didn't happen to just Greektown but more than 30 of Bouschor's deals failed!
On top of everything else, now we are dealing with a typical 'Bouschor election'. This time it is see thru envelopes, registered voters being mysteriously unregistered, hundreds not receiving ballots, and complaints of all of the above going unanswered until it is too late.
We still have to get those ballots through the post office. I have a question for Dennis McKelvie. It has been reported that you seemed to have some business located in the midst of the mailroom at the postoffice. Does being a former postal worker still allow you access to those areas not normally open to the public? Just a general question....I like to follow up on these things. Not a good place to locate yourself at this time, if true. Looks suspicious and we have had more than our share of suspicious activities. If you don't want to be subjected to suspicion than why place yourself in such positions, if true?
What would be interesting is with so many not receiving a ballot and many others planning not to vote because of their disgust with this tribe, maybe we won't even reach the required percentage of processed ballots and the election won't be validated. All that trickery, expense and planning....for nothing.
