MOTION DENIED!

Fred Paquin must be shaking in his boots right now. The judge has denied another request by Paquin's attorney for an adjournment of sentencing. According to the United States District Judge, R. Allan Edgar, counsel for Paquin has had ample time to prepare for the sentencing hearing.

Fred, you did the crime and now you are going to do the time. Maybe the Sault Tribe will finally see some justice in return for the crimes committed by at least one of our renowned criminals.

Merry Christmas to us.

It is extremely uplifting to see a good justice system work. The US government clearly isn't going to let Paquin and his likes slide.
Let's hope that very soon our own tribal government puts in place a means to stop the few self-serving members of the Board from using their position and authority to bully, control or punish innocent tribal members.
The people are finding their voice and are demanding accountability from directors who have huddled together like a band of thieves. We always seem to focus on these few because their actions are so outrageous.
Let's remember there were the others who stepped up and did the right thing and should be applauded and will be rewarded with respect and re-election for holding on to their integrity in spite of the adversity of a corrupt few. These are the directors who care about the elders, the children and all members of the tribe.

Lynne. I hope your going to his hearing, you seem very in the know about this case. You could report live, like Geraldo. You are the pinnacle of Internet gossip, good work!

I wish I could attend Paquins sentencing but semester exams take high priority. I am confident I will receive the news in the usual manner. As soon as that happens, it will be posted. P.S. Thank you to those who provide me with the news that we might not otherwise hear and the great friend who posts the links for this technically challenged person.

Our right to make changes through referendum is the one voice we have left....use it.
