Things to Come......

When Aaron Payment was installed as the new chairman on Mackinac Island 4 years ago, the room overflowed with supporters willing to pay the cost of the ferry to attend.

At yesterday's installation of Joe McCoy as the new tribal chairman there was only one community member.......one. Where were all his supporters that placed him above Payment in votes? With all the hype and pomp over the new guy how come no one went?

According to a few employees of the tribe, some employees are feeling the change in a very negative way. One supervisor, who had been relieved of many of her duties due to being suspected of violating confidentiality, has been throwing her regained weight around in the form of insults, yelling and bringing some to tears.

This same person also reported to anyone who is forced to listen to her that Aaron Payment and Todd Gravelle were picketing in St. Ignace. I know many of those who were participating in the demonstration and they said there is not a shred of truth to that statement.

Do any of McCoy's supporters believe the tribe will go back to the dictatorship form of rule or will McCoy treat members and staff with dignity and respect? Will McCoy lay down the law to the tribal jesters that hostility, insults and lies or will he be just like Bouschor?
