IT'S TIME TO SHAKE THINGS UP!

 This from an Anonymous Poster.....

It IS time to start over. In my mind what better time? Things are already in the toilet. Keeping the status quo only insures the continued downward spiral that we are in. I mean did you check out the latest edition of the happy land paper?  Unit reports that said absolutely nothing except that they all took another trip on our dime. I am very angry that they can travel all over the place and we are still working for peanuts, our properties are falling apart and we have ZERO leadership.

I work at the Shores and I can tell you that for a building that is what? 5 yrs old it is rapidly approaching dump status. Broken things are rarely fixed, the plumbing is a nightmare, carpets are filthy, can't keep houskeepers because they don't want to pay them anything..the list goes on ad nauseum. And I won't even start on the lakefront. And they are traveling around acting like everything is hunky dorey.

Well things are not hunky dorey, employee morale is at an all time low. Folks work for the tribe because they HAVE to..not because they want to. If there were other jobs in the area all GOOD employees would be gone.

I am a firm believer it is time to shake things up and not with some lame referendum or petition that they will just ignore. I mean shake things up!!!

This seems to be a growing trend among Sault Tribers...the idea that the only options to make the necessary changes are to be proactive in a way that suggests we mean business!

Any of the good jobs are saved for the friends and family of the offenders. Most are inexperienced and uneducated but they end up with the top jobs.

Yup. Just look at how many family members of Cathy Abramson, Bernard and Fred Paquin have been employed over the years. Add Pine to the list as well.

SHAKE IT UP !!!!

get everyone eligible to vote...registered.

Engage your friends and family to discuss what they feel is the problem and what the solution might be.

Attend Board meetings
\
Ask your representative to explain their position

Ask for transparency

Ask for accountability

Ask for fairness in hiring

Ask for a two year term limit on those that serve on the Election Committee....even the most basic of rights have been corrupted

Ask for a comprehensive investigation into extensive "wrong address" list for tribal citizens.

SHAKE THINGS UP !!!

GET INVOLVED !!

Asking will get us NO WHERE! I believe we have been 'asking" for a very long time.We have been asking for accountability, transparency.and all the rest of it. We have been asking for the new constitution,we have been asking for the truth. If any of that has been revealed I am not aware of it. If it was as simple as asking we wouldn't be here now would we?

Just as an after thought....if asking was all it took, much would have been accomplished by now.

Members as a whole are being ignored by a supermajority of the Board. Members are a nuisance to them.

At least 10 of the current BOD need to be removed for violating Members Constitutional rights.

Some are habitual offenders that have become Tribal dinasaurs along with their family and friends.

They will continue to do so until the whales are ousted from office and put in jail just like that useless Paquin.

Lets Shake them hard. I reolize the nice thing to do would be to ask our board memebers to make major changes with in the Sault Tribe, but I think where are way beyond the asking point. It's time to start a movment, and get something done instead of everything taking 2 years to accomplish, we need results now. I think with the the up coming decisions being made to put yet another corrupt, incompetent, Interim Chairperson who will do nothing but milk our people for yet more money, drawing closer we need our voices back.

Are you kidding? Look at yourselves. If people do not want to work for the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, then don't. It's as simple at that. There are plenty of jobs out there in the real world. This is why "our" tribe is so twisted. We can sit here and talk about "our" people and about how horrible they are. If you have something to say about benefiting the place that pays your bills you need to go to the right person. There a lot of great people employed by Kewadin Casions. Use your resources and stop bashing our people on the internet.

Okay previous poster. i was just wondering if that planet you live on has any oxygen. Plenty of jobs in the area??You might want to share those jobs with the rest of us as the local papers do not see fit to advertise them in the help wanteds. And as for blaming us for the "twisted" state of our tribe. You might want to reconsider that statement. We have had nothing to do with the twisting and perverting of tribal law.We had nothing to do with the debacle called Greektown that cost us and future generations millions of dollars. We had nothing to do with people like the former police chief and the former chairs helping themselves to whatever they felt like taking. The most the average tribal membr has to do with anything is dealing with the aftermath. Wake up poster and put the blame where it belongs.

Our right to make changes through referendum is the one voice we have left....use it.
