Are You Paying Attention?
If you've been paying attention, the containers of food you
have been buying are decreasing in size, Cans of food contain more water
probably because the expense to package smaller containers would exceed the
savings. A pound of butter is still a pound of butter but it costs as much as a
pound of good burger. Wages aren't going up so it's a matter of either /
or...either buy the butter or buy the burger.
My
question is this: if we are paying more for less and the excuse is the cost of
fuel, then why doesn't the price of goods go down along with gas prices? The
second those gas prices go up, retailers get right on it and jack those prices
up and that includes what was already delivered and sitting on shelves that was
delivered at the lower gas cost.
I can't begin to imagine what it's like to survive on
minimum wage. I can't imagine trying to pay rent or utilities and then try to
buy food. In Michigan, you either have to have children under the age of 18 or
be over the age of 62 to get subsidized housing or help with food.
Meanwhile
back at the ranch, the rich are getting richer because they are making sure
they don't lose a dime over such things as the price of gas or a pound of butter.
They've got you coming and going. They are treated like an endangered species
by lawmakers whose pockets are more padded than ever and foolish people who
continue to keep them in office merely out of party loyalty and parroting (and
believing) everything they are told by the kings an queens of bullshit.
Who's
destroying America? We are, for not stepping up to the plate and doing
something about it. Start writing letters, stop buying what you don't need,
demand fair wages for all, demand that those who have far more than their fair
share pay their fair share in taxes and wages. Stop making excuses for your
party out of loyalty rather than common sense. how about a party of the
people....how about that?
